Gombovtsi with lekvar: an authentic Ukrainian dish
The authentic Ukrainian dish that Yevhen Klopotenko offered to cook was gombovtsi with lekvar.
Ingredients: gombovtsy with jam
- Cottage cheese – 500 grams.
- Flour – 100 grams.
- Egg – 1 pc.
- Sugar – 1 tbsp.
- Plums.
Crumble:
- Sugar – 100 grams.
- Corn flour – 100 grams.
Method of cooking:
To prepare divine gombovtsy, we need to take 500 grams of cottage cheese (preferably dry and not too fatty), 100 grams of flour, one egg, 100 grams of sugar. Mix everything well, forming a homogeneous mass. Cut the plums into medium cubes. Form the gombovtsy: take the curd mass, about 60 grams, put about 10 grams (1 teaspoon) of chopped plums inside, and form a nice ball. We do this with all the curd mass. When our curd mass is ready, we can put it in the freezer for one hour, or immediately throw it in and cook it in boiling water. You can cook the gombovtsy on steam or in hot water for 10-15 minutes. To make a wonderful Transcarpathian jam, you need to cut 500 grams of plums and cook them without sugar for 1.5-2 hours over low heat until a homogeneous jelly mass is formed. You can also serve the gombovtsi not only with jam, but also with a crumble made from corn flour and sugar. To do this, take 100 grams of sugar and 100 grams of corn flour, fry everything well in a frying pan until it is bright and crispy. Sprinkle with gombovka. Enjoy and revive Ukrainian!
