Parsnips with chicken drumsticks: the recipe
STB premiered the culinary project Hell’s Bread with Yevhen Klopotenko. In the second episode, the best friend of Ukrainian viewers, the host of the projects The Incredible Truth About Stars, Call Sign Nadezhda, and Morning in the Big City on STB, Nadezhda Matveyeva, visited the project’s kitchen. Together, Yevhen and Nadiia cooked parsnips with chicken drumsticks. The recipe is in the article!
Previously, parsnips, along with turnips, were one of the most important root crops in Ukraine. We used to eat them almost every day, but now we have forgotten them for some reason. To restore the tradition of eating parsnips, Yevhen suggested cooking parsnips with chicken drumsticks.
Ingredients:
- Parsnips – 400 grams;
- Salt;
- Oil;
- Chicken drumsticks – 1 package (about 6 pieces);
- Sour cream – 4 tbsp;
- Prunes – 4 pcs;
- Juniper.
Method of cooking:
Wash and peel 400 grams of parsnips thoroughly, put them in a baking dish, add a little salt and oil, and put them in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 30 minutes. Salt the chicken drumsticks, add oil, and leave them to marinate for 30 minutes. Combine the sour cream with the chopped prunes and set aside. Put the chicken drumsticks on a wire rack and put them in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. We take Ukrainian juniper and crush it well in a mortar. Combine the already baked parsnips with sour cream and prunes and chicken drumsticks. Sprinkle the top with juniper for a wonderful flavor. Bon appetit!
