Premiere: Misha Krupin “To the End of the World”
On April 7, Misha Krupin and the band Corruption will present a new work – – a song and video about the duality of life, “To the End of the World.” This is the second song by the Ukrainian band Corruption, released during the full-scale invasion of Russia and in cooperation with Papa Music. The lyrics and music were written by Misha Krupin.
Over the past year, like millions of Ukrainians, Misha Krupin has undergone many dramatic changes in both his personal and creative life. Recent tragic events in the country have forced many people to rethink their lives. “To the End of the World” is a song-confession of the author, a certain limit, summarizing the results of life in “before” and “after”.
Fans of Krupin’s work will notice that the new composition is musically different from his previous works. The guitar was chosen as the solo instrument, the sound of which went through a complex chain of electronic processing, which gave the sound a novelty and mystery. In Ukraine, Misha Krupi was the first to use this technique. But there are still surprises ahead for the band’s fans. Thus, the video work begins with the splitting of the title “Corruption” as a kind of hint of changes in the future.
The video work “To the End of the World” is presented in black and white and has a deep metaphorical meaning. The frame is a minimalist picture: Misha Krupin and a tightrope walker.

In the music video, the musician reveals a side of his soul that has not been known until now. The work is centered on the artist’s monologue to the Higher Powers. He seeks help in a difficult time to gain strength and overcome difficulties and have spiritual peace:
“I feel nothing, but I know that You are there.” When everything around you looks like a mess, when you give up and despair sets in, every person has enough spiritual strength to fix everything and continue on the right path. This is the main idea of the work.
“To the End of the World” – this new song of mine shows the best part of my work, reveals me to you. This is very valuable,” says Misha Krupin. – The idea was very good. Why a tightrope walker? We thought about it for a long time. And at first the plot was a little different. Over time, we decided that tightrope walking is a difficult form of acrobatics and a difficult sport, but it looks easy from the outside. And this shows the opposites – on the one hand, the heaviness, and on the other hand, the lightness of the balance.”

The video was directed by Illya Mykhailus, known for his unconventional and unique vision of the shot. The idea to film the tightrope walker in the lead role did not come at once, but it clearly highlights all the meanings inherent in the song:
“This is the first video in which Misha does not play the main role, he seems to be ‘singing along’. The main character is a tightrope walker. The whole video consists of a tightrope walker’s journey along a rope – it’s like an abstract story about life and the desire for something bigger, which is beyond the physical world. That’s why this song is like a confession, when the singer wants more, wants purification, catharsis, repentance,” Ilya Mykhailus shares his secret.
As a reminder, on March 31, Misha Krupin and the Corruption band gave a concert in Kyiv, where they held a special charity auction and raised 140 thousand hryvnias to help Ukrainian defenders. Misha sold his most expensive guitar, which his grandmother Tsilya Isakovna had given him for his 40th birthday.
There are several more charity concerts in Ukraine ahead, the nearest ones in Poltava and the artist’s hometown of Kharkiv.
