The 2023 New Year’s table of traditional dishes has risen in price by almost 44% over the year. This is stated in the study of the Institute of Agrarian Economics. Thus, a festive table for four people will cost Kyivans 2,655.17 hryvnias.

Salad “Olivier” costs 281 hryvnias this year, which is 42% more than the prices at the end of 2021. The most expensive ingredient of the dish is sausage. Its price is  115 hryvnias for half a kilogram.

Vegetables for salad can be purchased for 20 hryvnias: two carrots, five potatoes and two onions. The price of potatoes decreased by 9.1% compared to the price at the end of 2021. At the same time, carrots and onions rose in price by 2.2 times and 2.8 times, respectively.

Expenditures on meat products doubled. The total cost of meat (2.5 kilograms) on the New Year’s table is 871 hryvnias. Poultry remains the cheapest meat at the end of the year. For 1  kg of fresh chicken fillet will have to pay, on average, 134.45  UAH.

A loaf of white bread will cost about UAH 26. The price of fruit on the festive table increased by almost 60% over the year  – up to 169 hryvnias. Mandarins (2 kilograms) cost 99 hryvnias, bananas (1 kilogram) – 58 hryvnias. Chocolate candies on average cost 185 hryvnias for 1 kilogram.

A bottle of sparkling wine “Artemivske” (0.75 l) will cost 140 hryvnias. One and a half times more – UAH 209 – you will have to pay for a bottle (0.5 l) of 5-year-old “Shabo” brandy. Price growth, respectively, by 28.4% and 16.1%.

Families who are able to buy delicacies will have to pay about 525 more UAH A jar of red caviar (120  d) will cost 280  UAH, and 200g of red fish – in 245  UAH.

Instead, the budget version of the New Year’s table in Kyiv will cost 2,933 hryvnias.
