How to reduce negativity: Dmytro Karpachev’s advice

Dmytro Karpachev negative

Today, it is difficult for Ukrainians to avoid negative thoughts and emotions when there is a fierce war in the country. However, STB presenter Dmytro Karpachev is convinced that it is possible to reduce the level of negativity. How to do it – a psychologist told on a social network using the example of the parable of the two wolves.

“The Parable of the Two Wolves”

Once upon a time, an old Indian revealed one life truth to his grandson.

– In every person there is a struggle, very similar to the struggle of two wolves. One wolf carries evil – envy, jealousy, pity, selfishness, laziness, lies… The other wolf carries good – peace, love, hope, truth, kindness, loyalty…

The little Indian, touched to the core by his grandfather’s words, thought for a moment, and then asked:

– And which wolf wins in the end?

The old Indian smiled faintly and answered:

— The wolf you feed always wins.

It is the same with emotions , Dmytro Karpachev notes:

“You have more of the emotions/thoughts you feed. If there are many negative ones, then there is food for them. For example, reading only bad news, talking to unpleasant people, scrolling through depressing memories, etc. Try to keep track of what causes you negativity throughout the day. Try to avoid these phenomena/thoughts/events (negative triggers). Instead, add more positive triggers—those that make you happy.”

The presenter warns that it may be difficult at first, but if you practice, everything will work out and will go automatically.

“You can, without thinking for a long time, remember three things that cause you positive emotions (things that you can easily and daily access). For example, some positive program or book, or maybe a cat that calms down with purring, added Dmytro Karpachev .
