How Natalia Denysenko “cures” her 5-year-old son’s bad mood
The full-scale invasion changed the lives of not only adults. Young Ukrainians have also lost their sense of security. Therefore, parents should not remain silent when children ask about their concerns. Actress Natalka Denysenko is convinced of this. Behind the scenes of the TV show “eVopytannya” (New Channel), she told us how she talks to her 5-year-old son Andriy about stressful events.
“When my son is in a bad mood, I try to get him to talk to me,” says Natalka Denysenko. “We have a tradition before bedtime: I tell him how my day went and ask him about his. I can check with my son: “Were you scared at that moment? What do you think about it?” This is how I try to understand his state of mind. I also share my thoughts with him to somehow talk through a certain problem. I tell him everything honestly about the war. After all, he is already 5 years old, he understands and feels everything.”
The actress also told us how she spends her free time with her child.
“It’s my son who always comes up with things for us to do together. He has such an imagination! We often play together. We make something out of plasticine, put together puzzles, or make applications. My son always comes up with activities for us,” Denysenko says.
