Miss Grand International 2023: the names of the jury have been announced
The casting for Miss Grand International 2023 is coming to an end in Ukraine. This year, the girls are selected online to enable the participation of Ukrainian women who are now in different parts of the world. The celebrity jury included designer Andre Tan, showman Slava Demin and singer Anna Butkevich.
“Miss Grand International is one of the most prestigious pageants in the world. I know that many people are skeptical about beauty pageants nowadays, but in fact, their format has changed in recent years. Today it is no longer just a swimsuit show. It is a cultural event where representatives of different countries meet. And it’s not just the contestants themselves, but the entire delegation: stylist, makeup artist, hairdresser, choreographer. This is another platform where Ukraine can express itself. To tell about our culture and traditions, to make the works of Ukrainian designers of clothes and accessories more visible. In addition, this year Miss Grand announced the theme of the contest “STOP WAR”. The voice of our representative should sound powerful to evoke empathy among the jury and representatives of other countries through her personal story. This is how cultural diplomacy works,” says André Tan, chairman of the jury of the national pageant Queen of Ukraine 2023.
The full jury of the national stage of the competition:
- Andre Tan – designer, president of the Ukrainian Fashion Council
- Anna Butkevych – actress, singer, TV and radio presenter
- Slava Demin – host, interviewer
- Veronika Mykhailyshyn – Queen of Ukraine 2016, finalist of Miss Grand International
- Natalia Kovaleva – President of the Queen of Ukraine pageant, National Director of Miss Grand International
Beauty and fashion experts will select the winner of the contest, who will represent our country at the global competition in Vietnam in October.
