Kyiv tour from Alexander and Lera Pedan

Alexander and Lera Pedan May 28 is the Day of Kyiv. Our capital is one of the most beautiful in the world! And given that everyone has walked the streets of this beautiful city at least once, the holiday is also for everyone. Oleksandr Pedan, the host of New Channel projects, and his daughter Lera advised which places in Kyiv are definitely worth a walk to enjoy their beauty live. The top 5 locations of the capital were gathered in the educational travel “UniverCheck”. Keep it so you don’t lose it:

Arsenal Square

“Everyone loves this restored square,” says Pedan. “Before that, it was the Arsenal plant, and even earlier, the Kyiv Fortress. By the way, Arsenal Square even has the restored St. Nicholas Gate, which was the main entrance to the Kyiv fortress. Currently, the pavement has been replaced, restored, and many cafes and restaurants have been built there. There is also the Kyiv Food Market, a food hall in the center of the capital that brings together about 20 cool restaurants. But it is worth noting that this is not a cheap tourist destination.”

Street food “Kyiv-style cutlet” (17 Khreshchatyk St.)

“And this is a more budget-friendly new place in Kyiv that just blew up TikTok,” says Valeria Pedan. – In fact, it used to be very difficult to find a Kyiv-style cutlet in Kyiv. And this place is located in the city center, and the food is fast and delicious! I believe that trying this cutlet is a must-have for every tourist and Kyivan. My dad also says that it is a real competitor to Kyivska Perepichka.

Vozdvyzhenka neighborhood

“Both locals and tourists love this neighborhood because it is very nice. The place is associated with low, colorful houses. But not everyone knows that they reproduce the ancient Podil to the smallest detail, and do not resemble Holland, as is often said,” the host says.

Kyiv Funicular (lower station – 3 Sahaidachnoho St., upper station – 1 Desiatynna St.)

“Another one of the city’s business cards!” says the host’s daughter. “This exotic mode of transportation appeared in 1905. It was created as the shortest way between Podil and the upper city. But after the subway appeared in Kyiv, it lost its importance as a form of public transportation. Nevertheless, the funicular is still loved by Kyiv residents who live in Podil. And tourists love it too, because a ride for 8 hryvnias with such a view is super cool! Plus, it connects two important tourist spots – Poshtova and Mykhailivska squares.”

Kyiv cycle track

“It is one of the oldest in Europe!” says Oleksandr Pedan. “The cycle track was built in 1913. Once the Lybid River flowed here, then there was the Afanasivsky ravine. And now it is a cool modern sports place! Anyone can visit it.”
