Nelya Shovkoplias tells about her twin sons
Nelya Shovkopliya, host of Breakfast with 1+1 on 1+1 Ukraine, volunteer of the Zdiysny Mriyu charity project, and mother of twins Tymofii and Matvii, gave a frank interview to Afisha.bigmir.net. She spoke about her children and their hobbies, her passion for psychosomatics, new facets of herself, small joys, and her relationship with her morning show colleague Yegor Gordeev.

Nelya shared that her sons Matvii and Tymofii have finally returned to offline learning (the school had a mixed form of education until the new year). The boys were very excited about this because they missed their friends and classmates. Matvey is now playing football, and they both go to parkour. The host also told us what kind of mother she is.

“Sometimes I think I can be very strict, or even picky. I was an excellent student and very independent, and my children are the opposite – they are pranksters. But there are moments when I can “give a break,” and they feel it. They know what they need to do or say to influence me. That’s why I’m kind sometimes, strict but fair at other times,” Nelia says.
About his relationship with his colleague Yegor Gordeev, Shovkoplias says that they are now friends who have “learned each other’s nuances.”

“Now it’s more like we’re a TV couple who have gotten along because we’ve been together for many years. Sometimes you understand without words what state a person is in and what needs to be done. Sometimes, when some personal moments knock me out of the rut, I can’t get myself together, Yegor understands without words, takes over most of the airtime, and pulls me out. It also happens that he is not in a good mood, and then I take the initiative without a word. It seems to me that we are now at the stage of acceptance and understanding.”
The presenter told us what makes her feel positive, even in difficult times: family movie watching with her sons, walks with friends, meetings, trips. The greatest joy is when you manage to help others. Nelia also recalled a charity trip to Lviv with Yegor Gordeev and the Zdiysny Drei project:
“Everything that gives me strength, I do it for myself. I went to visit my classmate Dima in Ivano-Frankivsk. I did it because I realized that while he was at the front, I might not see him again… I communicate with the audience on social networks, and our defenders often write to me – it’s also a joy! I am happy when I manage to close the meetings with which they address me. I have fond memories of a trip to Lviv. We were raising funds for rehabilitation equipment for children at St. Nicholas Hospital. Yegor and I did everything – we were waiters, shoveled snow, sang carols with students, and made khachapuri.”
