Kharkiv: Litokryl, a center for children affected by the war, opened in the city. The main goal of the project is to provide children who have survived the horrors of a full-scale invasion with a place to come and receive psychological support from qualified professionals, engage in creative activities, and build strong ties with peers and educators.

Both spaces of Litokryl are equipped with toys, various games and accessories for handicrafts, which allows children to distract from trauma and find creative expression. In addition, space specialists hold daily meetings with small groups of children, providing them with a safe and supportive environment where they can relieve tension and stress. During these meetings, children are encouraged to share their experiences and emotions, which helps our specialists better understand their needs and provide them with appropriate support.

One of the most popular meeting formats in the Litokryl space is master classes conducted by professionals from various fields. Police officers, artists, musicians and other professionals visit the center, tell the children about their work and thus give them a glimpse into different aspects of the world around them or even choose a profession for the future.

“We believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment where they can heal and develop. Our Litokryl is equipped with all the necessary safety measures, which in turn creates a safe and comfortable environment for children,” the founders of the space say.

Thanks to the Litokryl project, 250 children have already received and continue to receive psychological support, 600 children have received New Year’s gifts, and 120 children have received New Year’s gifts from partner friends. In addition, the project helped 15 people get jobs, including teachers, psychologists, and administrators who work at Litokryl.

The project’s immediate plans include opening a third location in Kharkiv, as well as other border cities such as Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy, and Chernihiv. The founders of Litokryl want to continue to take care of children, and we are talking about supporting IDP children, children who have not left the city or who have left but have already returned to the city, children of military personnel and doctors, as well as children living in the de-occupied territories.

The authors of the project urge you to join them in supporting children by subscribing to their page on Patreon page..

Anyone can become a patron of Litokryl, including companies that want to take on the mission of socially responsible business. For example, the Ukrainian IT company Bini Games once covered the financial needs of the first Litokryl space in Kharkiv and thus became not only a patron but also a full-fledged partner of this charitable initiative.

“Your contribution will help us continue to provide essential services and expand our reach and impact. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and provide them with the support and care they need to recover and develop. As a Patreon donor, you will have a unique opportunity to communicate almost directly with the children at Litokryl, and you will be able to suggest movies to watch, vote for the best costumes for the holidays, and send letters and messages of support to the children,” Litokryl says.

In addition, all Litokryl’s Patreon subscribers will also have access to exclusive updates and behind-the-scenes content, allowing them to get to know how their support affects children.
