“Masha Foundation: an online project to support Ukrainian women

The pilot group of women has already started classes, which the Masha Foundation conducts in collaboration with the Ukrainian Union of Professional Body Oriented Psychotherapists.

For almost a year now, the Masha Foundation has been taking women and children affected by the war under its wing and bringing them back to life through the Unbreakable Mom project. For three weeks, trauma specialists and experienced psychotherapists stabilize the Ukrainian women’s mental state. Then they go home or to places that have become temporary shelters for them. And this return to reality can be very difficult.

“We are sensitive to the needs of our girls. We always collect feedback and keep in touch after projects,” says Tetiana Muratkina, head of the Masha Foundation. “One of these requests was for psychological support for women who returned home after the Unbreakable Mom program. So we created an online continuation of the program: meetings that help them focus on themselves, their feelings and work through a set of exercises to relieve tension in the body. The war continues, the challenges are not getting smaller, and the Masha Foundation remains a reliable island of support and care for Ukrainian women.”

Unbreakable mom to live on

“Unbreakable Mom. Live on” is two months of supportive group meetings and individual counseling with specialists from the Ukrainian Union of Professional Body Oriented Psychotherapists. Over the course of nine sessions, they will help women adapt to new realities, master their emotions, improve relationships with loved ones and establish new connections with others, and learn to control their emotional state.

“Now a pilot group of women – ‘graduates’ of the ‘Unbreakable Mom’ – is taking the online course. And in the future, we plan to scale this project and invite all Ukrainian women who need help to join it,” emphasizes Tetiana Muratkina.
