Nowadays, more and more people complain of high blood pressure. According to the World Health Organization, over the past 30 years, the number of hypertensive adults (30-79 years old) has doubled. Others don’t even realize they have a blood pressure problem.
It is generally known that in order to avoid health problems, namely high blood pressure, you need to eat right, exercise, take care of your nervous system, and give up smoking and alcohol.
Hypertensive patients should avoid foods that contain a lot of salt, such as canned foods, hard cheeses, processed foods, salty cookies, chips, ketchup, soy sauce, or other sauces, marinades, smoked meats, salted nuts, dried fish, medicinal mineral waters with a high sodium content, and canned olives. Experts advise to love spices. Coriander, marjoram, bay leaf, celery, dill, parsley, and garlic will be useful.
In addition, you should start eating more foods that lower blood pressure, namely:
- Broccoli (this vegetable is rich in potassium, which means it strengthens blood vessels)
- Garlic (thins blood, normalizes cholesterol);
- Yogurt (it is important that it is white, without fillers. Ideally, it should be prepared at home);

- Dark chocolate – from 70% cocoa and above (contains a large amount of antioxidants, which improve the condition of blood vessels and heart muscle and magnesium, which relaxes spasmodic blood vessels);
- Flaxseed oil (dilates arteries);
- Turmeric (an excellent assistant in the prevention of heart disease);
- Fatty fish (lowers cholesterol);
- Mushrooms (source of potassium);
- Green tea (when consumed regularly, it balances cholesterol levels).
