Marichka Padalko will run the Boston Marathon for the first time to help the Ukrainian military
Marichka Padalko, host of the 1+1 and TSN’s United News marathon, will take part in the world’s most famous, oldest (since 1897) and most prestigious marathon in Boston (USA) for the first time in her life. It is one of the 6 largest marathons in the world and has been one of the five major events held in the United States for many years. Every year, amateur and professional runners from all over the world compete in the Boston Marathon. This year it will be held on April 17.

Ukrainian TV presenter
The presenter is an active supporter of a healthy lifestyle and has repeatedly participated in charity races and marathons in Ukraine with her husband, who is currently defending the country at the front in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But this time, when I received an invitation from the Ukrainian-American charity organization Sunflower of Peace, I hesitated a bit, as if it was “not the right time.” There is a war in the country, and Marichka, like most Ukrainians, feels both physically and emotionally exhausted, and her work takes up a lot of her time and energy.

1+1 presenter will run a marathon
“Marathon, yes marathon!” That was my answer when I instantly had to decide whether I was ready to run 42 kilometers in the Boston Marathon. In my current physical and emotional state, I would never have responded to such a request if it concerned me personally, but to do an important thing for Ukraine – yes! The money raised will be used to help with the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers released from captivity,” the host says.

There wasn’t much time left to prepare for such a long distance, so Marichka Padalko and her coach started training in new sports equipment. Despite the cold weather, the presenter regularly runs through the streets of Kyiv. The TV presenter already has a registration, but does not have a start number. It will be appointed only when she raises the first $5,000 in charity. These are the conditions.

“If you can support us with even one dollar, we will be very grateful. You can donate now,” Padalko writes.

For the second time in a row, one of the most prestigious races on the classic 42 km 195 m course will be held without representatives of the aggressor countries.
