Oleksandr Popov together with the star football team raised money for the Armed Forces

Host of “Breakfast. Weekend” Oleksandr Popov took to the field as part of a football team with the participation of stars of Ukraine – actors, singers, presenters, bloggers. A charity match was played, and all funds that were collected during the game were sent to help the Armed Forces.  

“280,000 hryvnias for the Armed Forces! This is the amount we managed to collect as a result of our football charity match with the participation of the stars of Ukraine! All funds will go towards the purchase of thermal clothing for our defenders within the framework of the “Sport Warms Up” project (for 5 separate assault regiments of the Armed Forces, 93 separate mechanized brigades of the Kholodny Yar Armed Forces and 125 separate brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). I want to thank every person who joins the project and supports our soldiers with donations and other support. Together we are invincible! Glory to Ukraine!”, Oleksandr thanked on Instagram after the match.

By the way, Oleksandr Popov dreamed of becoming a professional football player since he was a child. Once he told about it at one of the “Make a dream come true” lessons. He played football well, but some injuries ruined those dreams. At this moment, a drama club appeared in his life – at the age of 16, the theater really captivated the boy. So, instead of sports, Oleksandr chose acting. But he still dreams of playing a football player in a big movie.

“Before the full-scale invasion, we had a football team of actors, our theatrical football tournaments – one winter and two summer. Played with theaters from all over Ukraine. All matches were for charity, and the money was collected for the House of Stage Veterans in Pushcha-Vodytsia. It is in complete disrepair and some repairs were needed. The actress Olesya Zhurakivska took care of this. And now they played for the first time after a long break and gave all the money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, – the host said.
