Valentyna Khamaiko tells how she restores her emotional state
How to recover mentally and physically? In recent months, this has been the most common question asked by Ukrainians. Experts advise trying to get more sleep, exercise, walk outdoors, drink vitamins, watch positive movies and TV shows, read books, socialize with friends, and indulge in small pleasures, whether it’s a cake or a piece of delicious pizza.
Valentina Khamayko, the host of “Breakfast. Weekend” on 1+1 Ukraine channel, Valentina Khamayko, showed in her Instagram story how she works in her garden. Valya lives in the countryside and has a large garden where she grows potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, beets, carrots, and much more. The subscribers wondered why the host was digging in the ground without gloves.
“I received a lot of questions – how do you pull weeds with your bare hands? What will your hands be like? First of all, I frankly do not see any catastrophe in this. Secondly, I have a physical need to feel the earth with my hands. Yes, it is the physical need to get down to the ground in the evening, despite an active day, to gain some peace from it.
And now I have a condition where I lose sensitivity even in my body, you feel numb, like you’re cotton wool. And when you’re in this state, you want to come to your senses. And I am saved by this immersion there, closer to nature: to be alone, to think, to touch the earth. I actually gain energy from it. I needed to feel with my hands how a rose stings, how nettles burn.
And manicure… I’ll do it in a day and everything will be fine. Despite the fact that I have not used any kind of varnish for a long time, because with my pace of life and the amount of contact with water and earth, no varnishes can withstand it, even ultra-modern ones,” says Valentyna Khamaiko.
