Dantes: a new video with a priest, a crump and Dasha Katsurina

Volodymyr Dantes

Singer and TV presenter Volodymyr Dantes presented a new song and video “Chuche” – they are dedicated to life and trying to keep positive even in difficult times.

“When I listen to this song, I want to live,” says the artist himself.

The idea for the song was born during one of the periods of intensified news about a possible nuclear explosion, when the information field was very difficult. It was so distracting, mind-numbing, and interfering with his existence that Volodymyr thought: “Yes, there’s too much stress now, but why should we spend every day on internal anxiety and despair instead of living?”

“Today, we, all Ukrainians, are in such a whirlwind of terrible events that for a very long time I could not get myself out of this emotional pit.

I didn’t write music for more than six months, because I simply couldn’t afford it-my condition couldn’t allow me to create anything at all. Yes, we volunteered, raised money, drove cars and entertained people with the Fire, but I am an artist, and creativity is an important part of me.

At some point, I realized it was time. It’s time to shake off this depression, because it’s hard for everyone, but if I have the superpower to make people feel better, it’s time to do it.”

According to Volodymyr himself, the song was written to help listeners cope with difficult thoughts. This is the life of Ukrainians now: at night we sit in bomb shelters, and in the morning we go to drink coffee  and work – this is our defense reaction: laughter, joy and life. This is what the artist’s new track is about.

Volodymyr Dantes recorded the song online with sound producer Ihor Kyrylenko. Along with the track, a video appeared on the artist’s Youtube channel: the filming took place in the spring, and the location with the team was found by accident – right in the middle of a field.

“Instructions for listening to the song: you should listen to it if you are sad. If it seems very hard (and it really is), turn it on and try to switch the tunes. It’s simple, without subtext, and very clear,” says Volodymyr.

In the video, you find yourself in Volodymyr’s surreal dream, which demonstrates a broken perception of the world, where everything is mixed up, just like in our present. But, besides that, friends, love, and all the most important things are also there in the dream.
