The UK Prime Minister believes that the increase in the cost of visas will help stabilize finances and provide an opportunity to raise salaries for public sector workers. According to forecasts, these fees could bring more than €1 billion to the country’s economy, which will help address the financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is important to note that the increase in the cost of visas will affect a wide range of categories, including tourist, work and student visas. The cost of visas is expected to increase by about 15%.

For example, a short-term visa for foreigners will cost €133 (compared to €115), and a two-year long-term visa will cost €462 (compared to €434).

However, it is important to note that the cost of transit visas will remain unchanged. According to the government decision, the changes will come into effect on October 4. Thus, citizens and foreigners planning to visit the UK should be prepared for these innovations and take them into account in their travel budget.
