QUEST PISTOLS: a song about unity and the path to victory
Anton Savlepov, Kostya Borovsky and Mykyta Goryuk present a new original song after the revival of the original lineup of the cult Ukrainian band QUEST PISTOLS.
The premiere that all QUEST PISTOLS fans have been waiting for. After the reunion, the band released several successful works at once. These were translations of the band’s already well-known hits and a duet song “Eyes” with Artem Pivovarov. “Who We Are” is the first work of the new stage of the band’s creativity. The author of the lyrics and music is the ever-present Oleksandr Chemerov.
“Who We Are” is a song about unity and the path to victory, about support and humanity, about warm memories and sweet nostalgia, about the magical power of music to heal souls. Together with the single, QUEST PISTOLS present a new video work that gives a ticket to the past, where the viewer will be able to plunge into pre-war emotions, flipping through an album of memories, images and events from a sometimes turbulent but peaceful life.
“This old ship and all the events on it are a metaphor for our common past – Ukraine 2007. Like a ghost, it walks somewhere along the Dnipro River every night, while you and I see the same warm, carefree future in our dreams and visions. Who Are We? This is a question that is now becoming of fundamental importance. Digging up our roots, remembering ourselves, accepting and appreciating ourselves. But even more importantly, to live here and now, to build a bright future together with our conscious actions.” – says Anton Savlepov.
“We wanted to feel and convey to our people a very important emotion that in the end everything will be fine, in a new way, and Ukrainians will be happy again. To remind them that in difficult times, the main thing is to be sincere, to unite, to realize your own nature and qualities, and to create a new reality despite obstacles. A cringe bar on a ship with strange situations and sincere characters is an honest allusion to our Ukraine, which still has a lot of desperate efforts and amazing changes ahead of it, and which we love so much despite everything. Beautiful, talented, young, best and fresh. We still have everything ahead of us.” Konstantin Borovsky adds.
