The YUNA Prize will be awarded to the winners in 2023
The YUNA Organizing Committee has announced the names of the artists who will perform at the ceremony. Among them are Bez Obmezheniy, KOLA, Oleksandr Ponomaryov and Mykhailo Khoma. Special guest – TVORCHI.
The producers of the National Music Award have named the Ukrainian performers who will take to the stage of the capital’s October Palace (ICCM) on June 16 during the 12th YUNA ceremony. This year’s event will be held under the slogan “SONGS OF UNBREAKABLE UKRAINE”.
Bez Obmezhen, KOLA, Yevhen Khmara, Angie Kreida, KARTA SVITU, Chico & Qatoshi, as well as Oleksandr Ponomaryov and Mykhailo Khoma will perform at the award ceremony. The artists will perform songs that became important for Ukraine in 2022 and with which they either won YUNA 2023 awards or were nominated.
The special guests of the show will be the musicians of TVORCHI, who this year represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool and took the 6th place. Traditionally, the special guest of the ceremonies, singer KAMALIYA, will perform on the YUNA stage.
A special performance at the 2023 ceremony will be by the Skryabin band with their lead singer Yurcash, who will perform the original version of Kuzma’s song “Places of Happy People.” Last spring, Pavlo Shylko, general producer and co-founder of YUNA, wrote his own versions of the chorus of this song, where instead of famous foreign cities, Ukrainian cities that suffered the most from Russian aggression – Mariupol, Irpin, Chernihiv and others – appeared. On YUNA’s social media pages, the video with this track has garnered about 4 million views. On June 16, several other Ukrainian artists will perform this version of the song along with Skryabin.
YUNA 2023
An intriguing part of the YUNA 2023 ceremony will be the presentation of special awards, which the organizing committee of the award has awarded to Ukrainian artists who have distinguished themselves in 2022 in creative or civic aspects after the outbreak of a full-scale war. The names of these performers will be kept secret until the event. The only exception – This is Artem Pyvovarov, who was presented with a special award by YUNA’s general producer and co-founder Pavlo Shilko at the artist’s concert at the Palace “Ukraine” in early May. Thus, the organizing committee recognized Pyvovarov for his project “Your Poems, My Notes.”
As a reminder, the winners of YUNA 2023 were announced on April 18 during an online broadcast on the award’s YouTube channel. According to the updated YUNA regulations, which have been adapted to the realities of martial law, this year’s winners were chosen by the jury not in the usual nominations, but from the list of TOP-100 new songs most played on Ukrainian radio stations between February 24 and December 31, 2022.
The 12 songs that received the most votes from the experts won:
- 24/02 – NO RESTRICTIONS
