King Charles III and Queen Camilla open the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023

Eurovision 2023British King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla visited the location where the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place. It will be held in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine. The King and Queen pressed a button and officially turned on the lighting of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 arena. The monarchs also met the contest’s hosts, including Ukrainian Yulia Sanina. In addition, they met with the British participant of the 2023 contest, May Mueller, and the musical director of the song contest, Kojo Samuel.

“I’m honored that His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort are here today to showcase the fantastic scene of our Eurovision Song Contest,” said Tim Davie, Director General of the BBC.

The first and second semifinals will take place in Liverpool on May 9 and 11, respectively. The final is on May 13. The Ukrainian band TVORCHI will perform in the final, as it is stipulated by the contest rules. In addition to TVORCHI, Ukraine will also be represented by invited guests Alyosha, Maria Yaremchuk, OTOY, Zlata Junka, GO_A, Jamala, Tina Karol, and Verka Serdyuchka.
