Lesya Nikitiuk came under fire during filming

Lesya NikitiukNew Channel host Lesya Nikitiuk spoke about the behind-the-scenes of the trip to Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.

The third season of LeMarrutka, a travel project about Ukraine during the full-scale war, was so popular with viewers that the crew decided not to stop with the eight episodes that were shown on Novy Channel in December. In February, the TV presenter and her team embarked on a new journey to film three additional episodes in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.

“During the alarms, we would go down to the shelter,” says the presenter. “Several times, when the siren sounded, we would go to the shelter in the hotel where we were staying. As soon as we arrived, the alarm would end, and we would go back to shoot. And air raids were very frequent… If someone wrote in Telegram groups: “There are explosions in Kherson, be careful,” then you should understand that there are explosions there all the time. And the strangest thing is that you get used to it in just two hours and stop twitching. You take it for granted.”

Fortunately, the shooting went well. Now the new episodes of the third season are already on air on New Channel every Tuesday at 20:00. But behind the scenes and in the memory of the film crew, a life-threatening moment remained forever, which Lesia shared exclusively.

“My team and I agreed not to tell anyone about it, but I’m the boss, so I’m allowed to (smiles). “We were traveling from one settlement to another and came under fire on the way,” says the TV presenter. “As we later learned, it was ‘Point U’. Thanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and God, we all survived, healthy and unharmed.”
