Volodymyr Zelenskyy names 5 reasons for delaying the war
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded another video, which he posted on his Instagram page, in which he addressed the European Council and listed five key dangers that prolong the war in Ukraine.
“During a working trip to the regions of Ukraine, I addressed the European Council on the road and noted five key dangers that prolong the war and delay peace.
First. We cannot delay the transfer of weapons to our soldiers that can protect Ukrainians from terror. First of all, long-range weapons.
The second example. I am grateful for the decision to purchase MiGs for Ukraine: it will significantly strengthen the defense of our skies. But we need more modern airplanes.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy focused on sanctions:
“Third. There can be no hint of delaying sanctions decisions. Moreover, there can be no erosion of sanctions, especially under the manipulative guise of food security. Strong sanctions mean security, while weakening sanctions is an invitation to new crises.
The fourth example. We have been talking about organizing a Peace Formula Summit for a long time. We are all well aware that, unfortunately, many leaders will not be able to come to Ukraine in the current circumstances. We can organize a summit in one of the world’s capitals – in one of the European capitals. Will this not add to Europe’s global strength? It will definitely add to it.”
The President noted that it is crucial for Ukraine to join the European Union in the near future.
“And fifth. It is critically important that there is no delay in the rapprochement between Ukraine and the European Union. Ukraine is ready for a decision to start negotiations on EU membership this year. The same readiness is required from every European leader.”
Ukraine will do everything to ensure that victory comes as soon as possible.
“We have to do everything we can to avoid any delays. And we really can do it. Let every meeting, every discussion, every day of our joint work bring the return of peace closer – bring the liberation of our land and the whole of Europe from Russian evil closer. Liberation already this year.”
