Helicopter with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs crashed in Brovary - 1 - изображение

As a result of the plane crash in Brovary, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, First Deputy Yevhen Yenin and Secretary of State Yuriy Lubkovych – died. This was written by the head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko.

As of 15:45, the rescue operations have been completed. In total, 14 people died, including 1 child.  Among the dead – nine were on board the helicopter.  Also 25 people were injured, including 11 children. The victims are being provided with all necessary assistance – the State Emergencies Service reported. 

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the tragedy in Brovary:

“My condolences to all the families and friends of the victims! Denys, Yevhen, Yuriy, the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs… true patriots of Ukraine. Blessed memory! Blessed memory to all those whose lives were taken away this black morning!”.

The President instructed the Security Service of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies to find out all the circumstances of the tragedy and establish what happened.

The EU leaders also expressed their condolences to the Ukrainian people over the tragedy with the helicopter in Brovary, which killed the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and children. 

In the morning of January 18, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary near Kyiv. At the time of the tragedy, there were children and staff in the kindergarten.
