“Mavka. The Forest Song” became the highest-grossing Ukrainian film

The Ukrainian animated film Mavka. The Forest Song” grossed almost UAH 82 million at the box office. In the three weeks since the premiere of the cartoon, almost 650 thousand tickets have been sold.

“In just three weekends, the cartoon sold 642,671 tickets at the Ukrainian box office, and the box office amounted to UAH 81,848,415,” the website of the Ukrainian State Film Agency reports.

“Mavka. The Forest Song” is a Ukrainian animated film by Animagrad based on the play by Lesya Ukrainka. The animation was directed by Oleh Malamuzh and Oleksandr Ruban. The work on the film was long, taking almost seven years. “Mavka was released on March 2 and continues to be screened.
