“Sadness”: CHEEV shares optimism in new video
The author of “Beautifully So” CHEEV shares his optimism in the new video “Sadness”
Hippie style, optimism and faith in the future in the new song by the author of the hit song “Good So”.
Vlad Chyzhykov started his solo career in 2019 with cover versions of Ukrainian pop artists, and ended 2022 as the author of one of the most popular tracks of the year. Millions of views and listens to “Good So” are a natural consequence of the fact that Ukraine’s information and cultural space is being cleansed of Russification.
“People are turning to high-quality Ukrainian-language music, and there is a high demand for it. This stereotype that Ukrainian music is somehow “not like that”, not modern, not stylish is disappearing. It’s a pity that a full-scale war had to happen for this to happen, but we have what we have,” the young artist comments on his rapid rise.
The young star does not rest on the laurels of sudden popularity, but simply continues to work, bringing good music to the masses and, whenever possible, using the media resource in favor of victory and helping the country. In the fall, he released a new big hit, “Dreaming,” and in the winter he participated in a charity event for the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. In short, he combines volunteering and creativity, like most conscious Ukrainian musicians.
Today, the artist premiered his new video for the song “Pechal”. This is again a potential hit, with the help of which the artist wants to help Ukrainians reflect on the winter that has already passed and look forward to the future with optimism.
CHEV: “We were promised a ‘hard winter’, that we would all freeze to death here, in cold houses and complete darkness. But now the winter has passed, and the Armed Forces, the state, the people, the business, the economy – everyone has not only withstood, but has gained the strength to go on to the end. At least that’s the feeling I have, and I wanted to share it with you through this song. In fact, it was written back in May, when it was completely unclear what would happen next. At the time, it seemed too “fun” to me, so I decided to keep it. Now it is more relevant than ever. After all, this track is about learning to just live in the unknown without making plans. You appreciate what you have and those who are with you – this lightness makes life easier in general.”
