TOP 5 romantic Eurovision songs

TOP 5 romantic songs
TOP 5 romantic songs by Timur Miroshnychenko that have been performed on the Eurovision stage over the past decade.

Timur Miroshnychenko
“Eurovision is famous for its ballads and romantic songs. Almost every year we have a few masterpieces that are best listened to in the arms of a loved one. Catch my Top 5 (actually, it could be Top 200, but let’s limit ourselves to five from the last decade), grab your soulmate and don’t let him/her out of your tender but strong arms for 15 minutes. And if this year you and your loved one are not together because of the war, send one of these songs with words of love and support. And donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to speed up our victory!” commented Timur Miroshnychenko.
The Common Linnets “Calm After The Storm” (Netherlands, 2014)
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It became the soundtrack of at least several thousand kilometers behind the wheel. But the ideal conditions are as follows: the seashore, sunset, a light breeze, and the head of your loved one on your shoulder.
Ieva Zasimauskaitė “When We’re Old” (Lithuania, 2018)
If you close your eyes, you can dissolve in this song… It’s an incredible love story through life. There are the words “I’m not afraid to grow old, if I have your hand to hold”. I wish everyone to find someone whom they would like to hold tightly until their last breath.
Duncan Laurence “Arcade” (Netherlands, 2019)
Firstly, it is the only song in the history of Eurovision that won for two years, not just one (because the contest was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic – ed.) Secondly, it’s a song about longing. A longing for love, for something that may seem unattainable. Although the lyrics are minor, the song is about hope.
Aram MP3 “Not Alone” (Armenia, 2014)
“What if it’s all in one kiss that turns all seeds into trees”. It’s a very cool ballad with a dubstep twist (yes!). The performer himself recommends listening to this song with closed eyes and an open mind, because it penetrates to the deepest depths. I would add: listen with good sound! And, of course, in a hug.
Salvador Sobral “Amar Pelos Dois” (Portugal, 2017)
I was lucky enough to hear this song live in a moment of triumph. As I remember now, the packed-to-the-gills noisy IEC in Kyiv instantly froze from the first second of the song. And it seems to fly away to another dimension, unearthly. Where everyone can “love for two” (as the song’s title translates – ed.) You and your love will also dissolve in this song together.
We would like to remind you that this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the UK, in Liverpool on May 13. Ukraine, as the winner of last year’s competition, will compete in the finals in 2023. TVORCHI will represent our country.
