Serena Williams announced the end of her sports career
The famous American tennis player Serena Williams has announced that she is ending her sports career. The champion announced this in an interview with Vogue.
40-year-old Serena became a 23-time Grand Slam champion, and in 2022 she won a singles victory, starting last June.
Recently, the athlete hinted that this tour could be the last in her career, as she plans to give birth to another child and does not want to combine it with sports competitions.
“I never liked the word ‘retirement.’ It doesn’t feel modern to me… Maybe the best word to describe what I’m going to do is “evolution”. I am here to tell you that I am evolving from tennis to other important things. A few years ago, I quietly founded Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm. Soon I started a family. I want this family to grow,” said Serena Williams.
