Run across the border and support the Armed Forces: RUN WITH UKRAINE ONLINE charity race
On March 24, 2022, a charity virtual race in support of Ukraine will start around the world
RUN WITH UKRAINE ONLINE
. 70% of the contributions will be donated to charitable foundations, and the participants will cover a symbolic distance of 6,993 km, the length of the state border of Ukraine.
Today, Ukraine needs support more than ever. Every day since February 24, 2022, Ukrainians have been courageously fighting for their lives, freedom and independence, for their peaceful and free future. Today, March 24, marks exactly one month since the beginning of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine. On March 24, a charity project – a virtual race – starts RUN WITH UKRAINE ONLINEwhich is open to participants from all over the world. The race is organized by the Ukrainian company Run Ukraine, which holds the largest running events in Ukraine.
70% of the funds raised from registrations and additional fees will be donated to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to other charitable foundations. The total distance that the organizers propose all participants to cover together is a symbolic 6,993 kilometers. This is the total length of Ukraine’s state border, including the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas. Thus, in total, the participants will run around a free and independent Ukraine for peace and victory.
“The Run Ukraine team is deeply concerned about the fate of our country and its citizens, as we are also a part of Ukrainian society. We understand that for many Ukrainian runners, sport and jogging are completely inappropriate now amid these terrible events. However, if you are safe and able to resume jogging despite the pain and anxiety to maintain your mental and physical health, we invite you to join the online charity race,” the company said.
Participants can choose the distance to cover: 1 km (children’s course), 21 km, 42 km, or run or walk any other distance. Everyone chooses the day, time, route, and location of the race on their own.
“We want to unite the running community and caring people around the world to support Ukraine in this difficult time and stop the war together as soon as possible. Everyone can help according to their ability: buy a registration and run the chosen distance, or simply join the project by making a separate charitable contribution. Every contribution is important, every kilometer brings us closer to victory. Let’s run 6,993 kilometers for Ukraine together!” Run Ukraine adds.
