Poppy seed cake with apples: a simple recipe

Ingredients:
  • Flour – 380 grams.
  • Butter – 180 grams.
  • Yeast – 50 grams.
  • Milk – 70 grams.
  • Sugar – 50 grams.
  • Egg – 4 pcs.
Filling:
  • Grated poppy seeds – 250 grams.
  • Apples – 5 pcs.
  • Butter – 50 grams.
  • Sugar.
 Method of cooking:

To make a good poppy seed and apple cake, you first need to make the dough: mix 380 grams of flour and 180 grams of butter at room temperature until smooth. Take 70 grams of milk and pour 50 grams of yeast over it, add one tablespoon of sugar, and mix well. Wait 15 minutes, and then add four egg yolks to the mixture of milk, yeast, and sugar. Pour the mixture into the butter and flour, making a smooth and beautiful dough. Leave the dough in a warm place for an hour to rise. Divide the risen dough into three parts and roll out into three plates. Form the cake: spread out the bottom layer of dough, put 250 grams of grated poppy seeds on it, cover with the second layer of dough, prepare the apple filling: cut five apples into small cubes and fry with 50 grams of butter, adding a little sugar, put the filling on the second layer, put the third layer on the filling, put four egg whites on it, which we beat with 20 grams of sugar. Leave the cake for 30 minutes to rise. Put in the oven for 50 minutes at 180 degrees.
