Barbie movie premiere: star guests
Two premieres of the film Barbie by Greta Gerwig took place at the Multiplex cinemas in Kyiv’s Central Department Store and Respublika Park shopping center. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling played the roles of Barbie and Ken in the movie. The film was released in Ukrainian cinemas on July 20.
The cast and crew have a total of 8 Oscar wins and 50 nominations. Another interesting fact is that while preparing to shoot the film, Greta Gerwig called director Peter Weir to ask him about his work on The Truman Show in terms of lighting and creating the sense of doll-like unreality she wanted for Barbie Land.
Michelle Andrade, Ksenia Mishina, Olya Shelby, Diana Gloster, Mila Eremeeva, Kateryna Solyar, Kateryna Silchenko and others were the first to appreciate the film in Ukraine.
The guests of the premiere received gifts from partners and the doll’s manufacturer – Mattel company. Katerina Rutman also presented a collection of clothes during the premiere at TSUM. The brand’s models looked like living Barbie dolls.
