A series based on the Harry Potter books has been put into production

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that a series based on the Harry Potter books has been put into production. Writer J.K. Rowling will executive produce the film with Neil Blair. 

“We are delighted to give the audience the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a completely new way. Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon, and it is obvious that there is an enduring love and thirst for the wizarding world. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, the new Max Original series will tell the story of each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy over the years,” said Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content.

A new cast is also expected. During a press conference on the integration of HBO Max and Discovery+, David Zaslav said that the Harry Potter series will feature completely new actors.

“Each season will be authentic to the original books and introduce Harry Potter and his incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain the foundation of the franchise and will continue to be available to watch,” said the head of Warner Bros. Discovery.
