The Weeknd became the most popular artist in the world

The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye ) entered the Guinness Book of Records, becoming the most popular musician on the planet. He has reached the highest number of monthly listeners on Spotify (as of March 20, 2023 – 111.4 million), and also became the first singer to have more than 100 million monthly listeners on the music platform.

The Canadian became the second musician in history to achieve such success. The first record belonged to Michael Jackson. It should be added that these are not the artist’s first achievements. In 2016, Tesfaye received two certificates: for the most viewed album on Spotify and for the most consecutive weeks spent in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.
