Educational grant: 15 million hryvnias for the education of children of military personnel
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of September 1, more than 2,405 educational institutions were affected in Ukraine, of which 270 were completely destroyed. This caused classroom overcrowding at the beginning of the academic year in many schools of the country, especially in the western and central regions, where the largest number of families with school-age children from all over Ukraine were relocated. Psychologists believe that one of the most psychologically vulnerable categories of students at the moment are the children of military personnel who are currently at the front, in the war zone. Constant worries about them negatively affect the educational process, due to which attention decreases and the academic performance of such students suffers. The load on teachers is also increasing, which significantly reduces the quality of education. One of the solutions to solve the problem is the effective redistribution of students between educational institutions, including private ones.
All-Ukrainian volunteered to help solve this difficult situation of the IT Step School network of private secondary schools of Ukraine, which allocated 15 million hryvnias for the education of children of military personnel. The goal of the project is to help children whose parents are currently defending our country in the war to get a quality education.
Who can apply for a grant?
About 130 children in 11 cities of Ukraine, where branches of licensed secondary schools are represented IT Step School: Kyiv, Lutsk, Rivne, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kremenchuk.
Today, the school’s curriculum is available mainly for students from grades 5 to 11, but in 4 institutions of the network there is already a program for elementary grades. Students who participate in the free assistance program will have full access to all classes and all study materials. Training will take place with in-depth study of IT specialties, as well as languages other than English – Chinese, Spanish, German, Polish and French to choose from. During lessons at school, special attention will be paid to the child’s psychological comfort. Each branch of the school has a reliable shelter equipped with everything necessary.
“In times of war, we cannot stand aside and do everything in our power as a private school to ensure that young Ukrainians can attend quality and safe intramural classes and receive a quality education while their parents win peace for us, – says Dmytro Korchevskyi, doctor of pedagogical sciences, founder IT Step School. – We are the largest network of private schools in Ukraine, so we will be happy to see children of our soldiers among our students.”
You can apply for free training by filling out an application using the link. The collection of questionnaires will be held until October 17 inclusive, and the start of training is scheduled for November 7 this year.
The project provides for the education of children of military personnel until the end of this school year – June 2023.
