On St. Nicholas’ Day, a big celebration was organized for small patients at Okhmatdyt Hospital! The residence of St. Nicholas worked in the hall of the medical institution. Children read poems, sang songs, shared their most cherished dreams and received gifts for it. Since March, 1+1 host Solomiya Vitvitska started weekly concerts in Okhmatdyt, where she invited Ukrainian artists to support children during the war.

And singers Pavlo Zibrov and Oleg Skrypka tried on the roles of the Mykolaichyk magicians.

On Nicholas Day, children’s dreams must come true! 7-year-old Solomiyka from Buchi in Okhmatdyt since the beginning of December. She was brought to the hospital after an operation to remove appendicitis, which led to serious complications. The child has already undergone three operations. And to speed up her recovery, the doctors asked Solomiyka about her dreams and hobbies. The girl talked about her favorite cartoon “Encanto”, which is about a family that was forced to flee from their home and seek shelter elsewhere. In the same way, Solya and her family left occupied Buchi for Ivano-Frankivsk. And the girl also told that she dreams of meeting Solomiya Vitvitska. It turns out that this is the children’s favorite TV presenter.
A surprise for little patient Okhmatdyt on Nicholas Day
So, when Solomiya Vitvitska found out about it, she made a real surprise and visited the girl’s ward precisely on Nicholas Day. And she gave what the little one imagined: books, coloring pages and puzzles about the favorite cartoon “Encanto”, as well as sweets and a t-shirt that you can paint yourself.
During the meeting with her favorite presenter, little Solya was a little embarrassed and was of few words. However, her mother was moved to tears by this acquaintance. She said that when she was pregnant with her daughter, she decided to name her after the 1+1 TV presenter.
After the poignant meeting, Vitvitska invited little Solya and her mother to attend a concert in the assembly hall of the Okhmatdyt hospital. Performances by Ukrainian artists and a bunch of presents under the Christmas tree were already waiting for the children.

And Solomiya Vitvitska also prepared a sweet gift for the doctors of Okhmatdyt, who tirelessly save small patients from terrible diagnoses every day – a New Year’s cake to “sweeten” their lives a little and thus thank them for their important work.
