Eurovision 2023 will be held in Liverpool
The 67th Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted in May 2023 Liverpool . This is reported by Public Broadcasting.
The competition will take place in Great Britain after Kalush Orchestra’s victory in Turin, due to the fact that the event cannot be held in the winning country for security reasons.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 Grand Final will take place at the Liverpool Arena by the River Mersey on Saturday, May 13 , and the semifinals will be held 9 and May 11 .
The BBC, together with the European Broadcasting Union, will organize next year’s event in consultation with Public Broadcasting. Liverpool was chosen after a rigorous competitive selection process.
Simultaneously with the announcement of the host city, EMS released the official logo of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, which contains the Ukrainian flag in the heart. The logo symbolizes that, despite the fact that the competition will be held in Great Britain, it will be held on behalf of Ukraine, the winner of this year’s Eurovision.
Executive Director of the Eurovision Song Contest Martin Osterdahl hailed this choice:
“Liverpool is an ideal place to host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. This city is synonymous with music and exceeds all requirements for holding a world event of this scale. We are very impressed with the passion the city has shown for hosting the contest and their comprehensive ideas on how to put last year’s winner, Ukraine, in the spotlight when thousands of supporters will come here next May.”
