Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023: members of the National Selection Jury
Public Broadcasting has announced the jury for the final of the National Selection for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023, which was open for voting in the mobile application Diia from on September 11, to on September 17, inclusive. Over 630,000 Ukrainians cast their votes during the week.
The leaders of the voting and members of the jury of the National Junior Eurovision Song Contest are:
Ihor Kondratiuk (28.16%) is a TV host, producer and showman. Co-author of the singing talent shows Karaoke on the Maidan and Chance, judge of Ukraine’s Got Talent and X-Factor.
“Despite the war, constant air raids, bombing of cities and villages, blackouts and other hardships, Ukrainian children find the desire and inspiration to develop their talents. It is a great honor for me to choose among these best and brightest stars the representative of Ukraine for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023,” said Igor Kondratyuk, who received over 177 thousand votes.
Jerry Heil (24.93%) is a singer, musician and songwriter. In 2023, she became a laureate of the Music Moves Europe Awards. Music producer, founder of the Nova Music label.
“In today’s realities, it will be very difficult to choose a winner. We are all on the verge of nervous tension. Each child will believe that it is his or her song that should represent Ukraine in the competition – and each will be right! Because every child is now the voice of Ukraine. Because of the war, Ukrainian children have matured very quickly. The winner is a young talent whose pure voice combines childlike sincerity and an adult view of the world,” said Jerry Heil, who received about 157 thousand votes.
ALYONA ALYONA (20.91%) is a rapper, composer and songwriter. Co-founder of the music label ENKO. In 2020, she was included in the European Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
“For me, this is an opportunity to use my experience, knowledge and skills in music to choose a worthy representative of Ukraine at Junior Eurovision. It’s about uniting with society and contributing to the development of children’s talents. I want to be useful to our children, to be an inspiration to them, to motivate them and encourage them not to be afraid.
I won’t be looking for anything specific in the finalists; for me, it works on the level of feeling. It is important for children to be themselves and realize that they are going to the competition to represent our country to the whole world, so that they understand why they are doing it,” she said. ALYONA ALYONA, for whom more than 131 thousand Ukrainians voted.
The final of the National Selection will take place on Sunday, October 1, , at 18:00. UA:PBC will broadcast the final on its TV channel and website Public Culture.
