Donald Trump leaves courtroom after charges are read

Donald Trump is the first former US president in history to face criminal charges. On Tuesday, April 04, Trump was read the indictment, which, according to US media, contains 34 counts. The content of these acts is unknown, as they have not been publicly published.

All charges against Trump are classified as Class E felonies, which are the lowest category of criminal offenses in New York and carry a maximum penalty of up to four years in prison, The New York Times reports.

After the charges were read out, the former US president did not agree to any of them, after which he was released from custody and left the courtroom. Trump did not make an official statement to the media.
