Help in Europe: a list of emergency phone numbers
Help in Europe: how to call emergency services abroad? Due to the hostilities in Ukraine, many people have left to live in neighboring countries. A large number chose neighboring Europe.
When setting up your life in a foreign country, it is important to know how you can get help in one way or another. For example, how do you call an ambulance if a person suddenly feels sick? There is a single toll-free telephone number – 112. However, in some countries, the numbers may differ dramatically.
Poland
Poland is one of the countries that has accepted a huge number of our refugees. Few people know where to go in a neighboring country to call emergency services.
- 999 – Ambulance (Pogotowie Ratunkowe)
- 998 – Fire Service(Straż Pożarna)
- 997 – Police (Policja)
- 994 – Emergency water supply service (Pogotowie Wodociągowe)
- 993 – Emergency heat supply service (Pogotowie Ciepłownicze)
- 992 – Gas emergency service (Pogotowie Gazowe)
- 991 – Energy Emergency Service (Pogotowie Energetyczne)
- 989 – National Health Fund (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia)
- 986 – Municipal Police (Straż Miejska)
- 985 – Mountain Rescue Service (Ratownictwo Morskie i Górskie)
- 984 – Water Rescue Service (Pogotowie Rzeczne)
Germany
In Germany, there are three main emergency services: the emergency medical service (Rettungsdienst), the police (Polizei), and the fire service (Feuerwehr). All of them can be called by calling 112.
Czech Republic
In the Czech Republic, there are separate numbers for each emergency service:
- 150 – fire service,
- 155 – ambulance,
- 156 – municipal police.
Help in Europe: Italy
The national emergency numbers in Italy look like this:
- 113 – police,
- 115 – fire service,
- 118 – first aid.
Spain
National emergency numbers in Spain also differ:
- 091 – police,
- 061 – emergency medical care,
- 080 – fire department.
- 092 – local police, which also deals with minor offenses.
Lithuania
Previously, in this country, you could call for emergency assistance by calling the following numbers: 01, 101, 011, 02, 102, 022, 03, 103, and 03. However, as of April 1, 2022, they will no longer be serviced, as emergency services in Lithuania switched to a single number – 112.
