For almost a year, multi-platinum Ukrainian pop star Tina Karol collaborated with a mass-market brand One by One, to design a collection inspired by stylish and valiant Ukrainians who are free to create one story. The designer team envisioned women dressed in a modern and patriotic way that would demonstrate support of the National Armed Forces and everyone who is fighting for the country. The collection was crash-tested in combat readiness conditions every Ukrainian woman is living in now.

Collection concept

Free to create one story — is the slogan and the main message of the collection. The collaboration features knitted suits and dresses, cardigans imprinted with the initial letters of The Armed Forces of Ukraine (most commonly known in Ukraine as ZSU), trendy balaclavas, a denim maxi skirt, and much more.

ZSU. The abbreviation ZSU (or anglicized AFU) holds a special place in every Ukrainian’s heart. When we say or write it, we feel respect for the noble men and brave women defending our country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We pay tribute to our heroes on the frontline who guard our right to freedom; they allow us to continue to write our history and grow as a nation. Part of the proceeds from the sales of Tina Karol x One by One collection will be donated to purchase thermal clothing for women serving in the AFU.Tina Karol has released a patriotic collection with the ONE BY ONE brand - 3 - изображение

The origami crane, added to the visual code of the collection, is a symbol of hope, faith, and indomitability, as well as the value of peace and family. The story behind it started last year when Tina Karol visited the Peace Museum in Hiroshima, where she saw small paper cranes made by a victim of the nuclear bombing, a Japanese girl, Sadako Sasaki. The Japanese legend says that a person who can fold 1,000 origami cranes can make their dream come true. Sadako’s only dream was to heal, so she performed her folding task every single day. The girl died from leukemia, having folded a total of 644 cranes. When she passed away, Sadako’s schoolmates folded the remaining cranes. The graphic image of the crane ideally complements the pieces in the collab, and it harmoniously unites all the symbols of the capsule under its wing.

Tina Karol x One by One collection was released on Tina’s birthday. It is a special occasion for Tina as well. It is her first complete ready-to-wear collection.

«The main message of the campaign is that we Ukrainians are different, but during this difficult year, we have become one, we breathe in unison, we move towards our goals unitedly, and we create one story,» – Tina says.
