On the morning of October 10, there was a massive shelling of Ukraine. The Russian occupiers launched rocket attacks on various cities. Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Dnipro, Mykolaiv came under fire. Since the very morning, an air alert has been declared on almost the entire territory of the country.

The Russian military fired more than 80 rockets, about 45 of which shot down air defense forces. A massive rocket attack killed more than ten people. Another 60 people were injured.

“Mass strikes this morning in the center of Kyiv and throughout Ukraine. Russia is intensifying the barrage of attacks on peaceful Ukrainians,” US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink emphasized .

According to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Russian troops have two targets – energy facilities throughout the country and people.

“They want panic and chaos, they want to destroy our energy system. They are hopeless. The second target is people. Such a time and such goals were specially chosen to cause as much damage as possible,” he emphasized.

As a result of the massive missile attack, 11 important infrastructure facilities in 8 regions and Kyiv were damaged. Some areas were without electricity, some still remain. Electricity and water supply are now being restored in the cities.

Power engineers use backup power circuits and repair damage. Due to shelling, power outages are possible, the president’s office warns.

A significant number of missiles hit the power systems of various cities. Energy facilities from Lviv to Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv Oblast, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipro and Vinnytsia, Frankiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Zhytormyr Oblast, Kirovohrad Oblast, in general, the entire south are targeted.
