On April 16, the Invictus Games – , an international Paralympic-style sports competition founded by Prince Harry – began in The Hague.

The Ukrainian national team won its first gold medal at the Invictus Games international competition in the shot put. This was reported by Invictus Games: Team Ukraine.

Prince Harry emphasized that today the whole world is united around Ukraine, and Meghan Markle addressed the participants with the words: “Glory to Ukraine!”.

Rodion Sitdikov brought Ukraine its first gold medal.  The result of the Ukrainian who fought in Luhansk region in 2015 was 9.46 meters in the shot put. 

The Ukrainian team won two more awards in the long jump. Artem Lukashuk and Ivan Hertsun won silver and bronze medals. In particular, Artem showed a result of 5.20 meters, and Ivan – 5.10 meters.

The day before the opening of the event, Harry and Meghan met personally with the Ukrainian team, who presented the couple with a calendar from the Come Back Alive Foundation.
