Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on e-Accounts

The President signed one of the key anti-corruption laws – eAcces. This initiative in the field of alcohol and tobacco taxation is intended to prevent billions of hryvnias from being spent on the gray market and instead to direct funds to strengthen Ukraine’s defense.

The electronic excise stamp with a DataMatrix code developed by the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and their partners will help the state control tobacco turnover, minimize the influence of the human factor and reduce the risk of buying counterfeit goods. Each of us will be able to easily check product information through Diia, which will increase the level of safety and consumer confidence.

This important achievement was made possible by the joint work of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the State Tax Service and the USAID/UK aid TAPAS Project/Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services.
