Hollywood actress, director, and public figure Angelina Jolie has revealed a rare photo of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand. In the photo, little Jolie with blond hair in a white dress and straw hat posed with Marshalline.
In the description, the star of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith noted that on May 9, her mother would have turned 73, but 15 years ago she passed away after a long battle with breast and ovarian cancer. The celebrity recalled the preventive surgeries she had undergone and urged all women to find time for a checkup.
“In June, I will be one month from the age she was diagnosed. I’ve had preventive surgeries to try to reduce the chances, but I keep getting checked. My mom loved Hendrix. And she always signed her letters with “Kiss of Heaven”. It took on a new meaning after she died. I send my love to those who have also lost loved ones and strength to those who are currently fighting for their lives and the lives of those they love. And to other women: please take the time to take care of yourself and get a mammogram, blood tests, or ultrasound, especially if you have a family history of cancer,” 47-year-old Angelina Jolie wrote on Instagram.
