Timur Miroshnichenko showed his adopted son Marcel for the first time
At the end of July, Timur Miroshnychenko, the host of the 1+1 Ukraine TV show, which now airs daily in the Breakfast with 1+1 at 09:10, finally received official documents for the adoption of his young son.
Timur Miroshnychenko told us how he and his wife Inna overcame all the many difficulties of adoption, how their children, 5-year-old Mia and 3.5-year-old Marko, took the arrival of their new brother, and how little Marcel himself is currently adapting to the family.
Timur says that the boy was born prematurely, weighing only 1 kg 400 g, which was very critical:
“He was abandoned in the hospital. On the second day, he underwent surgery because some of his organs were underdeveloped to the point that it was incompatible with life. After that, he was transferred to intensive care for 4 months. Only closer to the 5th month did he reach the indicators he was supposed to be born with. When the doctors stabilized him, he was transferred to an orphanage, where he lived until he met us. During this period of time, his biological parents never came to visit him.”
Only when Marcel turned one and a half years old did he receive the status of adoption. That is, for a year and a half, people who gave up their parental rights immediately at birth were not deprived of their children’s rights. Miroshnychenko admits that his wife Inna called all the orphanages in Ukraine in search of the baby. And everywhere she went she was told that she had no children!

“You call orphanages all over the country, and everywhere you go they tell you that there are no children. At the same time, we know that there are 20,000 children in the institutions! Another thing is that very few of them have the status of adoption. This is also a huge question for this whole system. After all, a child can live in an orphanage for years and not receive this status for various reasons: either the state gives the parents a chance to reform, or there is a third-cousin, grandparent, uncle, or aunt who does not write a refusal but does not take the child. And because of such moments, a child is forced to spend his or her entire life in such institutions. It should not be like this,” Timur is outraged.
The host told us how little Marcel is adapting to his new life, where he now has a dad and mom, sister and brother:
“The first time is about adaptation. Every day and every minute circumstances can change. Because before that, for 2 years, Marcel knew nothing but a hospital and an orphanage. Now everything is absolutely new to him. I got the impression that the children in the orphanage did not even brush their teeth. Because when we wanted to brush his teeth on the first morning, he did not understand what we wanted him to do. But when he saw his brother and sister doing it, he agreed and did not resist.”
Little Marcel is also getting used to the tenderness of his family and his mother’s hugs:
“For Marcel, this life is completely new. For example, in the early days, when he couldn’t sleep, Inna tried to rock him to sleep, and he resisted because he wasn’t used to it. He was not used to being hugged, he did not understand what it was. And he rocked himself, because that’s what all the kids in the orphanage did.”
Inna and Timur’s immediate plans are to take care of their son’s health, as the boy has certain problems. The couple is optimistic and confident that they will help Marcel live his best life with their unconditional love and care.
