Cannes Film Festival: who won the main awards

Cannes Film FestivalThe 76th Cannes Film Festival, where the Palme d’Or award went to French director Justine Triet for her film Trajectory of Fall. This is stated on the official website of the festival. The film investigates the guilt or innocence of a popular writer accused of murdering her husband.

Trié is the third woman to win the Palme d’Or, after Jane Campion for The Piano and Julia Ducournau for Titane. Jane Fonda presented the award to the winner.

The festival’s Grand Prix went to the British director Jonathan Glazer for his drama Area of Interest.

French filmmaker Chan Anh Hung was recognized as the best director for his film The Passion of Dodin Buffan.

76th Cannes Film Festival: the prize for Best Actor was awarded to Japanese actor Koji Yakusa for his performance in the film Beautiful Days by Wim Wenders.

For Best Actress, the prize went to Turkish actress Merve Dizdar for her work in the film About Dry Grass, directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

The best screenplay award went to Japanese playwright Yuji Sakamoto, who participated in the creation of the drama Monster.
