Anna Trincher: “Now is the time to show your full potential”

Anna Trincher: Now is the time to show your full potential - 1 - изображениеUkrainian singer Anna Trincher shared with Woman Magazine the details of her preparations for her all-Ukrainian tour, which she is about to embark on. She also spoke about her rehabilitation after surgery, her work with Positive and Olya Polyakova, and shared her secrets of how she and her husband try to resolve family conflicts.

Anya, you recently had surgery to remove your wisdom teeth. Nevertheless, you still remained very active in your social networks, continued to work, and gave interviews. Have you thought about putting your activities on hold for a while and taking a little rest after the surgery to recuperate?

Of course I did, but I disappear from social media only when I need a moral break, to clear my mind, to be with my husband or family. Although this operation took a lot of effort, my positive energy and desire to show my true self, even with large swelling at that time, remained. My audience gave me a lot of words of support, which also gave me some motivation for a speedy recovery. I will say even more, in parallel with my rehabilitation after the operation, my team and I were already thinking about the idea of my future tour of Ukraine.

Can you tell us more about it?

To be honest, this is a very special and necessary time for me. I see how much support I get from my audience, that they like my work, even though it changes direction over time. By the way, in the near future I plan to completely change it and sing about what I feel. I feel that now my songs are as important to my listeners as they are to me. A lot has changed during the war, from the understanding of love to new values. With my all-Ukrainian tour, I want to give the audience a lot of emotions, because previously in Lviv and Ternopil, where everything was sold outThere was such a great exchange of real and sincere energy. My team and I are preparing a cool program with a show ballet called “Only You and Me”, I will sing old and new hits, and a special guest will join the concert. I will be glad to see everyone, because you will not only support my work, have a great time, but also have the opportunity to support our defenders, as part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the needs of the Armed Forces.

On February 24, 2023, on the anniversary of the full-scale war, you, together with Olya Polyakova and Oleksiy Zavgorodny, presented your joint work The Way to Victory. Tell us, what was it like working with them?

“The Way to Victory” is a song that, together with the Aurora multimarket campaign, helped raise UAH 11 million to purchase drones for the military. We had previously worked with Oleksiy on the track “What kind of Cossack are you”, so we already had a certain and comfortable connection, but it was the first time I worked with Olya. To be honest, I’ve heard a lot of gossip about how it works, but as often happens, if you don’t try it yourself, you can’t really make a conclusion. Olya turned out to be a very comfortable and wise woman, and we hit it off right away.

Ania, why do you think people still listen to Russian music after all this time and what do you think about it?

It seems to me that I will never understand these people. Every day we hear loud explosions, experience terrible events, and some still do not realize that they are feeding the enemy with their wiretaps, which will then launch another missile in our direction. I can understand everything, maybe these people don’t share Ukrainian culture, although this is also strange, so find French, English performers-anyone but Russian. So the fact that Ukrainians are supporting the enemy by wiretapping is beyond my comprehension, and I don’t understand what other reasons these people need to refuse.

How can our society contribute to eradicating this?

Creating your own is a no-brainer. Every day, cultural figures are doing their best to find new ways to express themselves. Many competitive young singers emerged during the war, creating new music content that is not inferior to past hits. Now we are all trying to make quality songs that will be listened to and that will be ours, Ukrainian, first and foremost. Supporting your own does not mean listening to only one Ukrainian-language track that you like, it is enough to refuse Russian in all areas and promote new, cool and your own. For example, look at the works of Ukrainian designers who are talked about every day; they have found a way to fill the red carpet of Hollywood. The whole world supports Ukraine, so why can’t a part of our society choose the side of good and remove everything Russian from their lives, in my opinion, is unfair to themselves first of all.

Today you are a young Ukrainian artist who works hard every day. Tell me, how can you successfully build a career in such a difficult time?

I would say more precisely, how to maintain your career in such a difficult time and continue to move up the ladder. I can say for sure that it is difficult, but it is possible. Today, there is a lot of competition among young artists, some of whom were already known before the war, like me, for example, and some who have recently made it big and are already gathering a lot of people at their concerts. When the full-scale invasion began, I didn’t want to be creative, I just needed to understand what to do next. At one point, I just gathered all my thoughts and strength into one single thing and promised myself that I would keep working, come what may. I continued to write my blog, and eventually the inspiration to create new music and really work every day returned. It’s a difficult time for Ukrainian show business, but if you look at it from another angle, now is the time to show your full potential, to unleash your creativity, to change it, to demonstrate what you are truly capable of.

What difficulties do you face on the way to achieving your goals?

In fact, I don’t see any difficulties, but of course there are some. If I want something, I will do everything to get it. I have such a character, I like everything to work like clockwork. For example, there are no conflicts within my team, and I am focused and concentrated; if you have a responsible approach, your dreams will come faster. I try to look for different ways to accomplish all tasks, even if they are unrealistically difficult.

As for your personal life, how do you and your husband get along on a domestic level? Are there any problems?

Of course, just like any other couple, We have family conflicts, some misunderstandings, but we try to solve everything right away. We work in a field where there is already a lot of negativity, so we try to avoid such energy at home, because we love each other and see ourselves happy now and in a few years. The most difficult issue now is the war, which we also want to survive together.

What advice can you give to a young couple who have just started a family, how to avoid conflicts in their life together? Do you have any basic rules?

In my opinion, you should not have strict rules in the family, partners should understand each other, support each other and do what they love, do their own thing, build a career, enjoy life in different ways, but most importantly, you should be loving allies who know how to resolve personal conflicts within their family without bringing them to the public, no one can know better than you how comfortable and how you need to live in a family.
