The Ministry of Digital Transformation and NABU cooperate against corruption
The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the fight against corruption.
“Digitalization stops schemes worth billions of hryvnias. The potential anti-corruption and economic effect of online services in two years is UAH 48 billion. Construction services alone save the state UAH 11.2 billion annually. Digital sick leave – UAH 4 billion,” wrote Mykhailo Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, on Telegram.
Fedorov noted that the priority anti-corruption projects for this year include Restore, eAccounts, automation of services for seafarers, and customs clearance in Diia.
Cooperation under the memorandum provides for:
– we will reengineer and digitalize services that pose the greatest corruption risks and public outcry;
– will cooperate in developing the concept of transparent and competitive public procurement in the field of public IT (disclosure of software code, online monitoring of approval and procurement of IT products);
– Given the active development of the UAV sector and the increase in funding for this area, we will ensure constant online monitoring of the procurement process of drones for the needs of the security and defense forces of Ukraine.
The Minister also added that the Ministry of Digital Transformation will help NABU introduce modern IT tools to improve the efficiency of investigative actions, such as artificial intelligence, big data analysis, face recognition, and others.
