Martial law and general mobilization will be extended in May
In May, martial law and general mobilization will be extended, which expires on May 19. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has registered in the Verkhovna Rada the draft laws “On Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine” and “On Extension of General Mobilization”. This was reported by the official website of the President of Ukraine. Martial law has been extended for another 90 days.
“The term of martial law in Ukraine is extended from 05:30 on May 20, 2023 for a period of 90 days”, – the statement reads.
The Verkhovna Rada passed laws approving presidential decrees extending martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for 90 days from May 20. Previously, the Council made a similar decision on February 24, March 15, April 21, August 15, and November 16, 2022, and this year on February 7.
