Crash of an unidentified aircraft over Kyiv: causes

In the evening of April 19, Kyiv residents observed a bright glow of an airborne object and the moment it fell to Earth. After verification and clarification, the information about the possible use of enemy aircraft or an air strike with missile weapons was not confirmed.

To reassure residents and guests of the capital, the Kyiv City Military Administration released information about the possible fall of the American satellite, and it was marked “preliminary information”! At that time, there were no data or warnings about the possible entry of a large space body into the Earth’s atmosphere from any of the world’s aerospace agencies or astronomical observatories,” said Serhiy Popko, head of KMAS.

Popko also noted that it was not a NASA satellite:

“However, there was a warning from NASA about their space satellite falling to Earth. Now, after NASA’ s official statement, we can give you more information – it was not their satellite. What exactly it was is up to experts to determine. But the most important thing is the safety of Kyiv and the peace of Kyiv residents. It was not a missile attack, our air defense did not use available weapons,” explained Serhiy Popko, Chief of the Ukrainian Military Academy.
