New giant hole discovered on the Sun

A new giant hole has been discovered on the Sun. It is twenty times the size of our planet. This “hole” could trigger a magnetic storm on Earth as early as March 31. This was reported by the English newspaper Daily Mail with reference to NASA.

“The shape of this coronal hole is not special. Nevertheless, its location makes it very interesting,” says Daniel Verscharen, an associate professor of space and climate physics at University College London.

As you know, this is the second giant hole in a row. A similar one was found earlier, which was 30 times larger than this one. Coronal holes release solar wind into space, which can damage satellites and cause auroras on Earth.
